This includes the Pretty Please feature for families announced at I/O 2018, Assistant notes and lists integration, Broadcast Replies, and visual lyrics for the Home Hub. Overall, Alexa Drop In is a more comprehensive intercom and calling system. It offers a greater level of convenience in checking up on people outside your household. Furthermore, you can use it as a baby monitor, connecting automatically to the baby room to get both audio and video feedback.
For almost three years now, owners of Google and Nest smart speakers and displays have been able to broadcast an audio message to every device with the Google Assistant in their home. Another advantage of Alexa is its ability to Drop In on people outside your household. It can only communicate with devices connected to your Google account. Smart speakers also have to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network to get broadcast messages. This is a step in the right direction for broadcasts, as it allows users to sort of walkie-talkie between speakers around the house, or from their phone to their home when they're away.

You can use Broadcast from a Nest Hub in the kitchen to let everyone know dinner is ready. Activate your personal assistant by saying, “Ok Google, broadcast”, or “Hey Google, broadcast” + “breakfast is ready”.
